Welcome to The Ben Lomond Manor House Historic Rose Garden.
This is a garden of historic roses rather than an historic garden. All the roses here are from the past. The date listed next to each rose's name is the time of the development of this hybrid. There are only 3 roses in our garden from as recent as the early 20th century, 1924 being the most recent. Most of our roses date from the 19th century or earlier. There are currently 3 ways to view the roses. An alphabetized text listing of names, an alphabetized listing with a thumbnail of each rose, and an array of thumbnails. The graphic pages are fairly large and may take a while to load over slow internet connections. You may click on any thumbnail to view a larger image and details on the specific rose. Likewise on the text only pages clicking on the name of the rose will produce the same detail window. These require a JavaScript enabled web browser.
