Chapman's Mill

Scaffolding Up, Core Drilling Starts

The erection of the basic scaffolding has now been completed on the outside corners of the mill and along the interior of the three walls being stabilized. This has allowed the drilling process to commence, the precursor to the insertion of stainless steel anchor rods, mesh and mortar.

Anchors will be placed horizontally at the corners, hence the current drilling is being done at those locations in a horizontal plane with temporary PVC pipe inserted. In the area of the windows the anchors will be inserted vertically into timbers placed across the openings. The portions of the full wall receiving stabilization will have anchors inserted vertically along the full length of the wall.

The Cintec site manager overseeing the work, Daryl Davis, projects that the work will be completed in the mid-July time frame.
