Core drilling at the corners of the mill is nearing completion. It is expected that this activity should be finished by the 26th of May as the weather has been cooperating so far. When this is done, the stainless steel anchoring process will commence at the corners.

The anchors and associated materials to fix them in place will begin to arrive on-site approximately the end of the week of the May 22. It is expected that the corner anchoring process will take about 10 days.

Drilled Hole and Extracted Core Stone

Two of the Cintec technicians who have been doing the core drilling are Roy Gilles and Denis Garby from Ottawa, Ontario. Together they have over 52 years in the construction business with the last few years devoted to stabilization of historic structures. In the recent past they have worked on stabilization of a chapel at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, the Parliament buildings in Ottawa, bridges in New York City and Philadelphia and notably, the nearby stone bridge in Aldie, Virginia.
