Window Area Masonry Work Commenced

As of the 15th of August, stone masons have been on-site for approximately one week and have made significant progress. They are focusing on strengthening the stone work around the window openings. The task entails ensuring that the stone structure in these areas are stable and gaps with missing stones are filled.

In addition, the horizontal timber lintels over the window openings that were significantly damaged in the fire, are being replaced with new wood timbers as part of the overall process. The cross-section of these timbers measures 10 inches by 10 inches.

The combination of these two activities should allow the window openings to remain stable for generations.

It is expected that this phase of the work should continue through early September.
