Chapman's Mill

Anchoring Completed

As of the 25th of July, 2006, the anchoring portion of Phase II has been completed. The final activities included the injection of mortar on the last of the long vertical anchors on the east side of the building, and the attachment of end fastening plates.

The next activity that will be undertaken during this phase is the final strengthening of window areas. This will be accomplished initially by a team of stone masons who should be on-site in the near future. After this has been completed, interior steel bracing and safety netting will be installed.

The core group of Canadian technicians, who have been accomplishing the anchoring activity since work on Phase II commenced, will be leaving the site shortly. The Turn The Mill Around Campaign would like to express our appreciation for the safe and professional job they accomplished, given the challenges of an 18th Century stone building of this size.
